About Mark Smith & family

Born and raised in Seattle, I am proud to say I am ‘home grown’. After attending Lincoln High School in Seattle, I received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington, then a Master of Business Administration from the University of Puget Sound.

My business career began in the 1970s when I went to work selling for SmithKline Beecham and Merck.  In 1980, I entered the mortgage banking business, where I remain today. Over the last twenty seven years, I’ve enjoyed closing over 5000 challenging transactions and take pride in delivering top quality service to every client.

My wife and two daughters bring much personal joy to my life and provide the balance to my business career. As a family, we enjoy boating, basketball, track, biking and hiking. Of course with young kids, these interests change daily!

Service to others has always been a focus to my life, and I have served on many Boards and Advisory Councils. I am on the Board of Directors of the Infectious Disease Research Institute and the University District Business Improvement Council, my Homeowners Association, and several advisory boards.

Other interests include our love of good food and wine, folk art collecting, bonsai trees, gardening, travel, and spending time with friends and family.

I would like to meet you and your family and discover how we can best serve your needs. It is my belief that to be of the best service to you, it is important to learn as much as possible about your future home objectives and how this will relate to your financial objectives and goals. Consideration must be given to present and future income streams, existing and projected debt load, retirement funding and other factors, which may be appropriate to consider.

My greatest career satisfaction comes from closing a transaction in which I’ve brought additional insight, experience, and value to you, the client.
